Hydrolyzes fatty acids from S-acylated cysteine residues in proteins such as trimeric G alpha proteins, GAP43, ZDHHC6 or HRAS. Deacylates GAP43. Mediates depalmitoylation of ZDHHC6. Has lysophospholipase activity (By similarity).
